Project Proverb: A Giving Project

November 1, 2015 by Alana Leave a Comment

Are you wanting to do something different this year with  your family? Something that you can work together on and help others and your community.  The holiday’s are a great time to start teaching our children compassion, kindness, humility, and much more.  I recently asked my readers on Facebook “What are some ideas that you have to help teach our children to give back to our community and others around us?”.

I wanted to make a mission statement (download by subscribing to Project Proverb) for my family, and teach them how to give instead of always receiving, and that giving is all year long.  This has been so heavy on my heart for sometime.  I need to teach my children how to give, we need to teach our children how to give, I need to be a better example how to give.  We are the first teachers, as parents, that our children will learn from and I believe giving is an important lesson that we teach in a self-consumed world.

The light bulb went off and God gave me the idea for “Project Proverb: A Giving Project”

You may be wondering what is “Project Proverb”?  I have this idea that we as a family, community, and online community can join together and give as one body.  Giving at the same time, to impact our families, and communities.

How wonderful would it be to have groups of people from all over the world give back at the same time in their communities.

Think of the lives changed!

For 4 weeks before each main holiday there will be a challenge listed to “Project Proverb” for us to fulfill as one cohesive community.

These will be easy and very do-able projects you can complete as a family. If you have an idea for the project please contact me here and leave your idea, I would love to feature some of your ideas.

This will start the first week of November 1, 2015 and will continue through-out the year for the major holidays. Does this mean we can only give during these times? No. Giving should be all year round, and hopefully this project will start mine and your families journey of giving with your own ideas all year.

The first holiday will be Thanksgiving.

The first project will be posted November 1, 2015 in the Project Proverb Facebook group and you will have a full week to complete the idea for giving that week. In the group we can post the progress of our giving and share pictures of our families working together to give. The Facebook group will also be great place to share ideas. Please join today!

I am so excited to start Project Proverb with you!

Be sure to sign up below to receive your weekly “Project Proverb” challenge. I will send out encouragement, and all the weekly projects in these newsletters, you will need to sign up to receive these. This will be an exclusive newsletter just for Project Proverb. You can sign up here.

Spread the word to everyone you know, the more who participate the greater the impact.

I want this to grow like wildfire and ignite peoples hearts to give to those who aren’t able. Let’s teach our children to be more like Jesus, and open our hearts as well.

“Generous hands are blessed hands because they give bread to the poor.” - Proverbs 22:9
