Finding your hope in everyday life with tips and faith!

Dropping the pounds Thursday: Week 1 weight-loss

After my fourth baby my body no longer resembled the body I had after having my first two babies. I was able to lose the weight quickly with my first two thanks to Weight Watchers, and having plenty of time to exercise.  Fast forward nine years and add two more babies, my time is very limited. I started Weight Watchers again in January 2015 and have so far lost 6 of the 30 pounds I want to lose.

I thought it would be fun and encouraging to share this journey with you. Maybe you can follow along with your own weight-loss journey ?  I am trying to find new ways to exercise, because getting four kids out of the house is not an easy task.  (If you have mastered leaving the house in a timely manner please share.)

I am searching for the perfect exercise program I will be able to do at home, and maybe with my kids.  If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them.  I want to focus on my stomach right now, I have diastasis recti from my pregnancies and would really like to find something that would help with this.

I weigh in on Thursday mornings and would love for you to join this journey with me. I will be updating my weigh-ins on my Facebook page weekly. If you’re not following my Facebook page you can find it here.  There are a few of us that are already sharing on my page.

Weekly goals are important to weight-loss, here are a few simple goals of mine this week:

  • Calculate points and plan for breakfast and lunch ahead of time.
  • Write every thing I eat down.
  • exercise at least 3 times a week for 30 minutes.
  • Get around 8 hours of sleep each night.
  • Meal plan for dinner.

What are some of your weekly goals?

I have made a free printable to keep track of your food and points if you are weight watchers. You can download this below.

As someone who not only uses exercise for weight loss but ALSO mental health I hate to say that I have slacked in the last 2 months. I understand that desire to want to “rebuild” your body, tone up and feel better about yourself. I applaud your efforts, especially with 4 KIDS WOW, and encourage you to keep it public so we can keep up with you! A great tip I’ve gotten from my trainer friends is most of the exercises you need REQUIRE NOTHING ELSE EXCEPT YOUR OWN BODY WEIGHT!! Pushups are a MUST… they tone the whole body! Good luck and can’t wait to continue reading about your results!

Wow! I celebrate you. Four babies is two times more than me and I am sure finding the time to exercise is tough. I wish you all my best and if you find a good exercise regimen with kids, I want to hear. I have trouble with that, too! I look forward to your journey.

Great job so far Alana! I have been working hard to get healthy again…4 kids later also! I have lost 40 pounds in the past 6-7 months. I have primarily walked…just walked around my small neighborhood. The weather has been a challenge for me though this winter…I don’t want to take my toddler out if it is too cold. My at home work outs have been….Wii workouts or Sweatin’ to the Oldies DVD’s. My older kids make fun of me…they think Richard Simmons is WEIRD! :) BUT…the workouts are fun and easy…but I work up a sweat!

Good luck, Alana. Putting this out there for the world is so powerful. I find it hard to exercise at home, myself, but if you have cable, on demand has lots of fitness things. Also, maybe use a wii for exercise. Long walks in the warm weather. I am a very consistent exerciser, but for me it has to be classes or I can’t do it. I set my schedule and I go. Lots of them have childcare. I’m not sure if that’s an option. It will be nice to watch your journey. I’m always on the ten pound journey!
